Run SocialHub from Slack
SoTagis your AI retention colleague in Slack — it asks your governed metrics, flags what's moving, and acts with your approval. Three steps: install, connect, use.
Install
Add the SoTag app to your Slack workspace.
Connect
Run /so connect in a channel to bind it to your team.
Use
@mention SoTag — ask your numbers, approve what it drafts.
1. Install SoTag in Slack
Add the SoTag app to your Slack workspace. It uses Slack's standard OAuth install and requests only the scopes it needs — read mentions, post replies, run the /so slash command, and continue a thread without re-@mentioning it. A Slack workspace admin may need to approve the install.
Once installed, SoTag is available in your workspace — it does nothing until you connect a channel in step 2.
2. Connect a channel to your team
SoTag works per channel, so you decide exactly where it lives. In the Slack channel you want it in, invite the app, then run:
/invite @SoTag
/so connect/so connect replies with a secure, single-use link. Open it while signed in to SocialHub, confirm which team and capability tier this channel should use, and save. That binds the channel — from now on SoTag answers for that team, scoped to your role's permissions.
Channel commands
/so connectBind this channel to your team (opens a secure confirmation link)./so statusShow whether this channel is connected, and to which team & tier./so disconnectUnbind this channel./so helpList what SoTag can do in this channel.Connecting requires a SocialHub admin sign-in, so only someone on your team can bind a channel — a Slack member can't silently point SoTag at your data.
3. Use it
@mention SoTag in the connected channel and ask in plain language. For example:
Ask your numbers
- “@SoTag what's GMV this week by store?”
- “How's our redemption rate trending?”
- “Why did active members dip last month?”
Get flagged proactively
- SoTag watches member behavior and posts when something moves.
- It names the weak step, not just the chart.
- Cooldown + dedup keep it from nagging.
Act with approval
- It drafts the re-engagement send or coupon.
- You approve from the Slack message.
- Outreach only goes out once a human says yes.
Safe by design.Every number SoTag quotes comes from SocialHub's governed semantic layer — the same metric your dashboard reads — so it never writes raw SQL or invents a figure. Actions are drafted, not auto-sent: a human approves outreach, and the channel is scoped to one team and your role's permissions.
